Development Plans are invaluable for shaping your career path. They assist in setting clear career goals, enhancing your skillset, aligning your objectives with those of your organization, and keeping you actively engaged in learning. With uMap™, development plans enable you and your manager to effortlessly track your progress and achievements directly from your profile.
Here's how it works:
Step 1: Click on My Profile > Development Plan.
Step 2: Click Add an Action Plan. When the pop-up appears, add an action item, a description of what success looks like and a target date. Track progress by keeping your status updated and discuss with your manager during your 1:1s.
Note: Dropdown options shown below the status are customized by the organization. Yours may look different than the image below.
Step 3: Click Save. To edit, click the pencil icon and update any time.
What do I do now?
Meet with your manager to discuss alignment around professional goals and development needs. Talk through what the first step might be.
Create an action plan in the Development Plan tab. Think about what success looks like and add a target date for completion.
Follow the one-on-one conversation cadence and discuss progress, challenges or next steps with your manager.
Update action items and track progress by updating the status. Be sure to mark the action plan completed when it is done.
